HUB: New Generation Steam Boiler

Jenesis, which started its operations in 1984 with the manufacture of heat and steam devices, has been producing steam generators and energy recovery systems since 1999. The R&D team of the company, which closely follows the technological developments, is focused on improving their technological capability gradually. The company, which is the owner of technological productions that are set as an example in the world, carries out its productions with CE and EAC certificates in ISO9001: 2015 standards and offers it to the service of many sectors in many parts of the world. We interviewed with Jenesis General Manager Fatih Savaşkan about all topics of interest about the HUB steam generation system, which they started in 2017 and put into production in 2019. As a mechanical engineer, Savaşkan is well-versed in his own subject and knows all the details of the system down to the smallest detail. We will divide our special news into two main parts, where even those who are not familiar can get detailed information on the subject while reading it. We leave second part in the August issue, enjoy your reading…

"As Jenesis, we continue our R&D studies in order to produce systems that will meet the needs of today, where businesses continue to make plans to save money and to increase occupational safety, especially due to the increasing energy costs and the increasing importance given to human health," Savaşkan said. In 2019, we brought a new system to the steam world with its special "Turboblok" internal structure by combining the water tube boiler design used in power plants operating at steam pressures of 50 barg and above or steam ships with the design of the steam generator produced in relatively smaller capacities. As the applications of the Jenesis HUB system, which we made its first applications in 2019, are heard, the demands from the country and abroad continued to increase. Even though there are similar productions in the world, as a local company, we have succeeded in being 1-2 steps ahead of the technology produced in the world, with the experience we have gained since 1984 and our budget for R&D studies.”

The working principle and first striking advantage of the system is: “It is possible to install steam boiler rooms from 3 t/h to 100 t/h modularly thanks to the developed Jenesis HUB Automation system. HUB system; It is a system based on the principle of cascading modules produced in different capacities and controlling them from a central automation with equal aging.

Low Investment Low Operating Cost

Thanks to its advantages, it has both require fewer investments at initial phase and it lowers operating costs. For example, if we assume that your total steam requirement is 10 t/h, in case of any redundant operation, 2 units of 10 t/h steam boilers should be invested. A single boiler investment can also be an option by taking the risk of stoppages in the entire factory in case of boiler failure. In fact, if a plan to increase the capacity is underway in the future, an investment of 15 t/h instead of 10 t/h can be taken into evaluation since the boiler itself not a system that can be purchased repeatedly. When steam boilers operate at a capacity below than usual, their efficiency decreases. Instead of building a large boiler room and operating it at low capacity in the first place, it is possible to produce at high efficiency with modules as needed, thanks to the HUB system. Thus, both initial investment and operating costs will be reduced.

Since the Jenesis HUB system has a modular design, 2.5 t/h*4 modules will meet the steam need in the first stage, and it will be sufficient to invest 12.5 t/h and 5 modules in total by taking 1 module for backup purposes. If there is a capacity increase in the future, the capacity can be increased as desired with additional 2.5 t/h modules. In the HUB system, there are modules with different capacities as 1 - 1.5 - 2 - 2.5 - 3 and 4 t/h. Each module can be taken from same capacity, as well as seasonal increases/decreases or combinations may be considered where different capacities could work together according to your instantaneous peak draws.” Explaining that the system they developed has zero explosion risk, Savaşkan said.

High Security, Zero Explosion Risk

“The risk of explosion is zero in Jenesis HUB system steam boilers thanks to their water-tube design. Due to the high amount of stock water in Scotch type boilers and the control systems on it, the risk of explosion, which occurs due to erroneous perceptions over time and causes the lives of both factories and people, has been reduced to zero thanks to the water pipe Turboblok design. With the pipes that are resistant to 250 bar, even if there is a tear due to corrosion that may occur in the pipe in a long time, no explosion will occur and only water leakage will occur. Thanks to this feature, people can be placed even in living quarters, and by law, a separate building away from the main building and the necessity of creating a boiler room is eliminated. However, there is a 9-stage safety system on it. Thanks to its safety equipment, the system prevents other problems from occurring even in case of a problem. Each produced system is passed through 65 point function tests and is safely exported to the whole world.” to be continued…
