Epson's Linehead Inkjet Multifunction Printers Recognized for Excellence

Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724) and Epson Sales Japan Corporation ("Epson," collectively) are pleased to announce that Epson's WorkForce Enterprise LM-C6000, LM-C5000, and LM-C4000 linehead inkjet multifunction printers have won the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Commissioner's Award (Product & Business Model Category) under the fiscal 2023 Grand Prize for Excellence in Energy Efficiency and Conservation awards program organized by the Energy Conservation Center, Japan.

Prize Category: The Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Commissioner's Award, in the Product & Business Model Category, FY2023 Grand Prize for Excellence in Energy Efficiency and Conservation.

Prizewinning Products: WorkForce Enterprise LM-C6000, LM-C5000, and LM-C4000 linehead inkjet multifunction printers (MFPs).

Reasons for the Award

Multifunction office printers with printing speeds of 30-59 pages per minute (ppm) are in the volume zone of the market. This zone has traditionally been occupied primarily by laser printers, which consume considerable electricity because they use heat to fuse toner to the paper. In contrast, Epson's linehead inkjet multifunction printers employ energy-saving Heat-Free technology to eject ink. This technology, along with PrecisionCore printheads fabricated using state-of-the-art high-precision processing technology, enable the printers to deliver images of remarkable quality at high speed. Meanwhile, a new circuit unit reduces power consumption in sleep mode and during operation. The LM-C6000, which prints at 60 ppm, has a typical electricity consumption (TEC) value of 0.25 kWh, which is 39% less than the previous model and 437% of the energy-saving standard. The new MFPs also have a more compact design, with a 35% smaller footprint than the previous model thanks to new lineheads that have a higher nozzle density and an optimized paper path.

Yoichi Yamada, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Printing Solutions Operations Division commented, "We have continuously sought to contribute to social sustainability through inkjet innovations that reduce the environmental impact of offices while also offering our customers greater convenience. This award, received for products that represent an advancement from the LX series products that won the Director-General's Prize in 2018, is hugely inspiring. We will continue to offer a variety of innovative products and services that meet the requirements of the times."

-Product Features

Energy-Saving-Low-Power Design

Thanks to a low-power design that is possible only with inkjet printers that do not use heat in the printing process, the LM-C6000 offers 60 ppm throughput while consuming as little as 190W of electricity. By keeping maximum power consumption low, Epson has ensured that the printers can be used even in the event of a disaster, when power availability may be limited.

-Resource-Saving

High-capacity ink Cartridges and few limited Lifetime Parts

These printers are equipped with ink cartridges that hold enough ink to print approximately 30,000 color sheets and 50,000 monochrome sheets. In addition to the ink lasting a long time and thus reducing downtime, there are fewer consumables to dispose of. Inkjet printers have a simple structure with few limited lifetime parts that require replacement. This reduces the frequency of maintenance and the amount of resources used.

-Space-Saving

A compact design for greater layout and installation flexibility

A more compact design was achieved by making significant modifications to the internal structure of the printers. With a width of 555 mm and a depth of 620 mm, the footprint is approximately 35% smaller than that of the previous model, the LX-6050MF. In addition, when a paper jam occurs, it can be handled by simply opening and closing the right-side cover. The left side does not require access, so the printers can be placed flush against a wall, offering greater installation flexibility.
