Operating within Akkök Companies Group, Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayii A.Ş. manufactures acrylic fiber found within the synthetic-based fiber class and serves textile and industrial textile sectors of more than 50 countries in 5 continents. Constantly renewing itself through its innovative incentives with respect to the production, Aksa realized the first implementation of the advanced process control methods that contribute to the operational perfection within the scope of AES (Advanced Energy Solutions) Project in the power plants in Turkey.
Higher Efficiency
Carried out with Honeywell, the leading technology firm of the sector, ranked first among more than 50 applications and more than 10 countries in different continents in terms of the shortest “feedback” duration. With the Project, 2 million USD was saved annually while the efficiency of the power plant belonging to Aksa Akrilik was increased.
Thanks to AES Project where power plant units of Aksa Akrilik were optimized, stabilization was ensured in the energy production process while changes in the steam demand were met safely through the use of coal banker. At the end of the project which ensured that steam production temperature was increased with the use of the same amount of fuel, turbine electricity production was increased by 180 kWh. While inefficiencies resulting from pressure reduction were minimized, electricity production was increased by 400 kWh in the turbines. Besides, a steam boiler kept activated for system security was deactivated with this project and electricity energy saving of 110 kWh was ensured and heat losses were prevented.
