Operating in the field of manmade fiber technologies, Barmag has achieved remarkable market success with its new texturing machine, eFK EvoSmart. Following its premiere at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, the machine has attracted strong interest in various markets, particularly in China, Türkiye and Indonesia. Reaching 84 units sold within a short period of time clearly demonstrates that yarn producers’ expectations for energy efficiency and economical production are well aligned with this new technology.
Barmag representatives view the strong interest in the eFK EvoSmart as a natural result of the industry’s shift toward more efficient solutions in response to rising energy costs and sustainability-oriented production goals.
Energy Efficiency and Quality at the Forefront
One of the main focal points of the eFK EvoSmart is reducing energy consumption in yarn production while maintaining quality. The machine features a special configuration that combines the innovative EvoHeater heating technology with single-converter-controlled Smart Godets. Thanks to this combination, potential energy savings of up to 25% per kilogram of yarn can be achieved.
Dr. Wolfgang Ernst, Head of Sales at Barmag, points out that energy efficiency has become a decisive factor for yarn producers today, noting that the eFK EvoSmart sets a new benchmark in this field.
High Plant Availability Through Ease of Maintenance
Another key feature that distinguishes the eFK EvoSmart from comparable solutions is the significant reduction in maintenance requirements. The new-generation EvoHeater design greatly simplifies heater cleaning procedures that were previously time-consuming. Despite its closed system design, the heater offers easier handling for operators and allows maintenance intervals to be doubled. As a result, maintenance efforts can be reduced by up to 50%, leading to higher machine availability and increased productivity. This represents a clear competitive advantage, particularly for plants operating at high production volumes.
Consistent Performance Across Different Application Areas
The eFK EvoSmart has been designed to deliver stable and reliable performance across a wide range of applications, including weaving, knitting and finishing. The homogeneous yarn quality produced by the machine ensures smoother downstream processes while also helping to reduce production losses. The single-converter-controlled Smart Godet technology optimizes the operating point of each godet individually, reducing energy consumption while improving process stability.
An Investment in the Future
Barmag’s management positions the eFK EvoSmart not only as a solution for today’s requirements, but also as a response to the future demands of efficiency and sustainability. Dr. Wolfgang Ernst summarizes this approach as follows:
“With the eFK EvoSmart, we provide our customers with a solution that sustainably reduces operating costs while consistently delivering high yarn quality.”
