Digitalization Accelerates in Denim Design

Jeanologia, one of the leading technology companies in the denim industry, introduced “Billy”, its artificial intelligence solution developed for denim finishing design, to the Chinese market at Kingpins China. With this new system, the company aims to strengthen the connection between design and production processes. Developed by Jeanologia, Billy analyzes garment images and transforms fading effects, contrasts and characteristic wear patterns found in vintage denim into laser designs within minutes. As a result, technical preparation processes that traditionally took hours are significantly shortened through a digital workflow. According to the company, the system has been trained using the knowledge accumulated from more than 9,000 laser designs developed over the years. This enables it to transform the vintage denim look into reproducible and applicable designs on an industrial scale.

Artificial intelligence, laser and automation combined

By combining artificial intelligence with laser technology, Jeanologia aims to create faster, more precise and more efficient processes in denim production. The system seeks to reduce the need for manual retouching while also eliminating inefficiencies in production processes. During live demonstrations held at Kingpins China, visitors had the opportunity to closely observe the digital workflow in which vintage denim images were instantly transformed into laser applications.

China, one of the key centers of digital transformation

Jeanologia has been operating in China for more than 18 years and works with over 200 customers in the country. According to the company, more than 20 percent of the jeans produced in China today are manufactured using Jeanologia technologies. The Chinese market, where investments in automation, artificial intelligence and digital product development technologies are accelerating, stands out as one of the strategic centers where the company introduces its new solutions. Jeanologia, which has been operating in the textile industry for more than 30 years, develops solutions aimed at reducing water, energy and chemical consumption through technologies such as Laser, G2 Ozone, eFlow, H2Zero and ColorBox.
