Archroma, the world leader in colorants and specialty chemicals for sustainable solutions, announced that its subsidiary in Tianjin, China, has rewarded as ‘Green Factory’ by Tianjin Industry and Information Technology Bureau Tianjin officials. The Green Factory ‘list includes 56 companies that have been extensively evaluated and ranked in the light of 92 indicators in areas such as mill density, cleaner production, energy consumption efficiency, raw material recycling, carbon footprint, protection of ecological product balance and environmental protection.
Independently ISO 9001 Certified
The production facility in Tianjin is fully integrated into the Archroma Management System and is independently ISO 9001 certified. This difference is recognized by Archroma and incorporated to a long list of previous initiatives to further promote sustainable operations in Tianjin. Examples include upgrading boilers with low emission technology in 2017, ‘safe operation’ award given by the local industry park in 2018, and investment in advanced ozone oxidation technology for wastewater treatment. Rongwen Wang, China Operations Manager of Archroma, underlined that they have taken this management change into account, and said, ‘’We are constantly making great effort to effectively run an ecologically advanced production operation that focuses on reducing waste and conserving water sources and energy supplies in China. Therefore, we are extremely grateful and proud to be listed as ‘Green Factory’ by Tianjin Industry and Information Technology Bureau.
