New Incentives Highlight Textiles and Machinery

The Local Development Initiative Incentive Program announced by the Ministry of Industry and Technology covers a very wide range of investments across the country. While the program provides support in dozens of different areas from agriculture to manufacturing, and from technology to the service sector textiles and textile machinery hold a special place among these strategic sectors.

Minister Kacır: “We Invite Our Investors to Benefit from the New Era”

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır defined the program’s objective as “meeting local needs, converting imported inputs into domestic production, and localizing the supply chain.” Kacır invited investors to take advantage of the major incentives and supports to be provided in all sectors during this new period.

Three Regions Stand Out in Textile and Textile Machinery Investments

While the program covers 324 investment topics nationwide, three regions stand out under the heading of textile and textile machinery:

  • Gaziantep:
    • Regenerated yarn production: Recycling waste from textile and carpet production into value-added yarns.
    • Medium- and high-tech textile machinery: Domestic production of electronic flat knitting, fixing, and twisting machines to reduce foreign dependency.
  • Tekirdağ:
    • Eco-friendly textile dyeing machines: Development of next-generation dyeing machines that reduce water, energy, and chemical consumption.
  • Istanbul:
    • Fashion, design, and creative production centers: Establishment of fashion design, innovation, and prototyping centers to position Istanbul as a global fashion hub.

A Broad-Based Development Initiative

These supports are not limited to the textile field alone. The Local Development Initiative Incentive Program will encourage investments in many sectors in various cities across Türkiye, including agriculture, food processing, renewable energy, automotive sub-industry, defense technologies, software, and logistics. The textile sector, however, stands out in this wide spectrum due to its high employment potential and contribution to exports.

Industry Expectations

Sector representatives state that this program will particularly contribute to increasing domestic production capacity, strengthening R&D investments, and elevating Türkiye to higher positions in global competition.
