The company’s Textile Technology Centre in Wattwil stands out not only as a production hub but also as a center of knowledge, application, and innovation. Heberlein creates added value for its customers through technical consulting, product testing, and on-site support services.
Over 150 Years of Experience in One Team
Led by Head of Textile Technology Samuel Gerber, the team combines more than 150 years of experience in air interlacing and texturing technologies to provide solutions to the most complex customer demands. The Heberlein team offers more than just technical support—they analyze specific production problems and develop practical solutions.
Some customers may have nothing more than a sample of yarn they want to reproduce. Heberlein guides them through this complex process to reproduce the same or similar yarn as efficiently as possible. Technicians equipped with test jets visit mills to conduct on-site trials. The goal: producing yarns with reduced air and energy consumption while improving strength, uniformity, or number of knots.
Experimental Foundation of Innovation
The Textile Technology Centre also assists clients in developing new products by preparing specifications, testing concepts, and evaluating performance. Tests conducted with Heberlein’s latest DTY product series, APe, have shown significant air savings for customer applications—reflecting the close cooperation between R&D, laboratory teams, and clients.
Training, Simulation, and Confident Application
State-of-the-art interlacing and texturing machines at the centre allow simulation of the exact steps used in customer production facilities. Clients can participate in hands-on training sessions and implement improvements on their own machines with confidence.
Quality Improvement through Testing and Samples
Heberlein’s yarn testing reports include recommended machine settings, photographs, and, in many cases, sample knitted or woven fabrics. This detailed feedback helps customers improve production efficiency, increase product quality, and minimize the risk of customer complaints.
Unique Expertise in Troubleshooting
Heberlein also supports professionals dealing with air texturing (ATY), air covering (AC), DTY, and spinning-related issues. “Whether it’s an existing customer or a professional facing technical challenges in these areas, we can provide effective solutions,” says Samuel Gerber, underlining the company’s unique technical competence.
Technical Guidance Since the 1950s
Since the 1950s, Heberlein has placed technical guidance and consultancy at the core of its operations. Through both internal and external training initiatives, the company continues to contribute to the industry. This long-standing approach forms the foundation of Heberlein’s strong customer relationships today.
