In the DENİB Design Home and Bathroom Textile Design Competition, organized for the fourth time this year by the Denizli Exporters’ Association (DENİB), 14 finalists have been announced.
Held under the theme “In the Traces of the Past, in the Texture of the Future”, the competition saw young designers reinterpret motifs inspired by Anatolia’s cultural heritage through a modern design language.
“Design and Storytelling: The New Keys to Competition”
Mukaddes Başkaya, Chairwoman of the DENİB Design Competition Committee, emphasized that today’s competition goes beyond price and quality, stating:
“Competition is now defined by design, innovation, and storytelling. Our young designers blend Anatolian motifs with a modern perspective, creating a universal language. Our aim is to carry this rich cultural heritage into global markets, particularly Europe, through contemporary interpretations.”
Başkaya also noted that the competition is not only a commercial initiative but also a strong tool for cultural diplomacy.
Final Night on November 27
The finalists in the Bathroom Textile category are: Bekir Tanrıkuli, Buğra Akyel, Ecem Yıldız Borçin, Pelin Aykar, Selen Savcun, Şule Toprakoğlu, and Tuğba Kahyeoğlu.
The finalists in the Home Textile category are: Beyza Pehlivan, Cemre Nehadioğlu, Ceren Hazal Korkmaz, Esra Demir, Gizem Eldeniz, Hamide Çelik, and Ümmü Acar.The final night will be held on November 27.
Mentorship and International Opportunities for Finalists
Throughout the competition, the finalists will have the opportunity to develop their projects with mentorship support and meet with leading companies in the sector. The designs that succeed in the final will not only receive awards but will also gain collaboration opportunities with the industry and the right to apply for international education scholarships provided by the Ministry of Trade.
