
Aegean Exporters in the Champions League
Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) Top 1000 Exporters List ranked 12 textile and apparel companies from the Aegean Region, which account for 66 percent of Turkey's exports and is called the "Champions League of Exports.’’ This success demonstrates the sector's resilience and export capabilities despite the global economic downturn.
Üniteks Rises to Second Place in Turkey
Izmir-based Üniteks Tekstil, which ranked fifth in Turkey in 2023, made a significant leap forward in 2024, rising to second place in the ready-to-wear sector. The company ranked 117th in the overall Turkey rankings. This rise further demonstrates the company's competitiveness in the global market.
Sun Tekstil Shows Record Increase: 89% Growth
Despite a 7% contraction in ready-made clothing exports in 2024, Izmir-based Sun Tekstil reversed this trend. The company achieved an 89% increase in exports, increasing its exports from $119 million to $224.3 million. Ranked third in Turkey in ready-made clothing, Sun Tekstil also rose 103 places to 123rd on the TİM (Turkish Exporters Assembly) general list.
Uçak Tekstil Skyrocketed: 126% Increase
Bursa-based Uçak Tekstil increased its exports by 126% to $120.7 million in 2024. The company climbed 307 places on the TİM list, rising from 549th to 242nd. In the textile and raw materials sector, it attracted attention by rising from 18th to 5th place.
Ekoten Tekstil: The Fastest Rising Company
Ekoten Tekstil, which entered the list at number 977 in 2023, climbed 424 places to 553rd, reaching $56 million in exports in 2024. It also advanced 27 places to 17th within the sector.
Strong Representation from Denizli and Uşak
Balta Orient Tekstil became Turkey's 9th largest exporter in the carpet sector, while Filidea Tekstil, Sürü Tekstil, and Ozanteks Tekstil from Denizli also entered the list, reinforcing the Aegean region's sectoral strength.
A Message of "Ready-to-Wear Is Not Over"
Burak Sertbaş, President of the Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association, emphasized that this success, despite all the challenges faced by the ready-to-wear sector, demonstrates that the sector still has strong potential. Sertbaş said, “These successes are clear proof that Turkey still needs this sector. I have full confidence that we will achieve similar successes again in 2025.”
2025 Goal: New Successes in the US
Sertbaş stated that to boost the sector's export momentum, a national participation with 12 companies at the PV Manufacturing New York Fair to be achieved on July 15-16, 2025. These fairs, along with the participation of purchasing delegations, are intended to spark a new wave of growth in Turkey's ready-made clothing exports.
