Altoteks Expands Production Power with Its Third Monforts Thermex Investment

Altoteks, one of Türkiye’s established manufacturers specializing in workwear, military textiles and protective fabrics, has added another Monforts Thermex continuous dyeing line to its production infrastructure. The company, which has been using Monforts technologies since 1996, has now reached a total of three Thermex lines at its plant in Çorlu, creating a highly efficient finishing and dyeing setup alongside two existing Monfortex and one Montex lines.

With an annual dyeing and printing capacity of 18 million meters, the facility continues to expand its production infrastructure in line with growing demand for high-performance fabrics in both Türkiye and international defense–security markets.

Specialized production for critical applications

Altoteks’ production portfolio includes para-aramid and meta-aramid fiber blends, modacrylic fabrics, flame-retardant cotton–viscose blends, ripstop camouflage fabrics, and double-dyeing/printing applications for cotton–polyester and cotton–nylon technical fabrics. All these products must meet the high standards required by military units, security forces, fire brigades and civil defense organizations.

Company owner Mehmet Uçar highlights the key role of Thermex lines in meeting these stringent requirements: “The durability, colorfastness and performance criteria of the fabrics we dye are exceptionally high. Achieving such stability requires specialized know-how and advanced technology. Thermex lines are the foundation of our expertise, enabling the highest efficiency in continuous, disperse and reactive dyeing processes.”

Faster, more economical reactive dyeing with Econtrol®

The newly installed two-meter-wide Thermex line is equipped with three interconnected Thermex units, gas-fired infrared pre-dryers and a CPB (cold-pad-batch) system. The line stands out particularly due to the Econtrol® reactive dyeing process developed jointly by Monforts and DyStar.

This single-pass, low-energy, pad-dry-wash-off method provides significant advantages. With fixation achieved in just 2–3 minutes at 120–130°C in a hot-air dryer at 25–30% controlled humidity, the process enables substantial time and cost savings in high-volume reactive dyeing.

Uçar summarizes the strategic importance of Econtrol® for the company: “This process creates a major difference in continuous reactive dyeing in terms of speed, cost and quality. The new line will significantly improve our operational efficiency.”

Impressive installation speed: Full capacity in one month

The installation of the new Thermex line was completed in just one month through collaboration between Monforts, local representative Neotek and Altoteks’ technical team. Monforts continued providing operational support during the commissioning and post-installation service period.

Monforts Regional Sales Manager Thomas Päffgen emphasizes Altoteks’ international standing: “With its advanced production infrastructure, eco-friendly processes and experienced team, Altoteks continues to strengthen its competitive position in Europe, Asia, the USA and Africa. The company, which prioritizes quality, sustainability and customer satisfaction, is expanding successfully in specialized technical textile segments.”

Global competition in technical textiles intensifies

Rising quality and performance standards worldwide in the defense and technical textile sectors are pushing manufacturers toward more advanced process technologies. Continuous dyeing systems offering energy efficiency, reduced chemical consumption and faster color changes are increasingly critical for companies’ sustainability strategies.

The stability, heat resistance and fiber longevity provided by Monforts Thermex technology make it a preferred option particularly among manufacturers of aramid and modacrylic-based technical fabrics.

Altoteks: 30 years of expertise and a growing global network

Since the mid-1990s, Altoteks has specialized in textile finishing. With continuous investment, a strong technical team and a customer-centric approach, the company holds a solid position both in the domestic market and internationally. With the commissioning of the new Thermex line, Altoteks aims to achieve higher production capacity, shorter lead times and more consistent quality control.
