ARTA Tekstil, which offers high-quality finished woven and knitted fabrics to the world's leading ready-made clothing manufacturers with a sustainable production approach, works with the aim of increasing its exports with a sustainable production approach despite the volatility in foreign exchange rates and increasing costs. The company aims to overcome difficult conditions with automation, sustainability and by expanding new markets as their strategies.
ARTA Tekstil, which makes a difference in the textile sector with its environmentally sensitive production processes and sustainability approach, aims to overcome this period with its innovative solutions even though it faces difficulties in exports due to increasing inflation and volatility in foreign exchange rates. While emphasizing on their exports in 2023 which was around 13 million dollars which dropped to 10 million dollars in 2024, ARTA Tekstil Founding Partner Arif Nalbant said, “The fundamental reason for this is that the increasing costs in the domestic market put Turkey at a disadvantage in terms of price competition in foreign markets. In particular, due to the fact that labor costs have increased up to 1,200 dollars, and this figure is at the level of 200-300 dollars in countries such as Portugal, Tunisia, Bangladesh and Morocco, the outlook makes it difficult for Turkey to combat against these countries.’’
Sacrificing Profit Margin
Stating that despite the 13 percent increase in the Euro and 50-60 percent increase in inflation since last year, customers do not even accept a 5 percent price difference, Arif Nalbant said, “For this reason, like almost every other sector, we had to sacrifice our profit margins. As a remedy to the problem, we focused on increasing efficiency even more. We established new connections, especially in the Colombian market, by participating in fairs in Portugal and Colombia in line with our strategy to reaching new markets. As Colombia being known as the textile gate of Latin America and the mobility of apparel production in the region altogether created a great opportunity for us. Therefore, we also discovered a beautiful market thanks to the fair. All apparel manufacturers there are our potential customers. Colombia is the new land of opportunity for us to reach all of Latin America. We currently have a collaboration with the Inditex group in Spain. Inditex, which includes giant brands such as Zara, Bershka, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, is of course very important in the European market, but also their manufacturers in Tunisian and Moroccon markets stand out as our customers. We also take care to provide better service to the company.''
