Texhibition Istanbul Fabric and Textile Accessories Fair, where the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (İTHİB) brought the industry together with global buyers in cooperation with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO), opened its doors for the second time on September 21 at the Istanbul Expo Center. At the fair, in excess of 300 domestic buyers have met with over 1000 qualified buyers coming from European Union countries, England, US, North African countries and the Middle East. Texhibition Istanbul Fabric and Textile Accessories Fair, which will contribute to the sector's export target of 15 billion dollars; organized on an areas of 10 thousand square meters with the participation of fabric, yarn and apparel sub-industry companies.
Export Target of 250 Billion Dollars
Mustafa Gültepe, President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), said, ''The fair we hold today gives us honor. We will grow exponentially both the textile and ready-made clothing industry as a result of the synergy we have achieved in the following periods. We will make a huge contribution to Turkey's exports. I would like to declare that we will become a big metropol as a textiles, apparel and sub-industry. As TİM, we will hopefully exceed the 250 billion dollars we have set forth for 2022 in the upcoming periods. We are closely keeping up with the recession problems around the world. With the Allah’s will, we will overcome this period as well. In 2023, we will try to cover the losses that might have occurred in Europe with trade fairs and with delegations.''
Turkey is the Most Important Player of the Global Supply Chain
Ahmet Öksüz, Chairman of the Board of Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (İTHİB), pointed out that the fair, which was held in cooperation with İTO, has been indispensable in making the flow of the global supply chain permanent to Turkey and said, ''In order to increase our exports in the textile sector and to reach the rise momentum in value-added exports, we stated the urgency of a fair in which buyers from many world regions would take part in and in line with our goals, we run our first domestic fair in a limited time that organized with İTO. We welcomed 166 companies together with more than 12 thousand visitors in our first fair that we run in 85 days. Our fair, which we opened for the second time today, has doubled its growth. More than 300 companies come together with more than 1000 foreign procurement committees and more than 20 thousand visitors in 3 days. We aim to make our fair one of the most prestigious textile fairs in the world by running it on the calendar of international textile fairs in a very short time.''
Expressing that the fair will make positive contributions to the textile industry, Öksüz said: ''The fair, which was held in cooperation with İTO, has been indispensable in making the flow of the global supply chain permanent to Turkey. In 2021, we increased our production by 36.1% by achieving production value of 49 billion dollars. Together with the ready-made clothing industry, this figure rises to 78 billion dollars. We stated the urgency of a fair in which buyers from many world regions would take part in and in line with our goals; we run our first domestic fair in a limited time that organized with the support of Ministry of Commerce. With the strength we derive from our industry, we continue our work without slowing down to make our industry one of the top 3 textile suppliers in the world.''
