Korteks, one of Europe’s largest integrated polyester yarn manufacturers, once again shared the highlights of its product portfolio with industry professionals at the 22nd International Istanbul Yarn Fair held on March 26–28. Operating under the Zorlu Textile Group, the company stood out among the prominent exhibitors with the sustainable and functional yarn solutions developed at its R&D center.
Korteks presented a wide range of applications at the fair by bringing together sustainability-focused solutions and technical performance-oriented products within its product portfolio. In particular, TAÇ REBORN®, produced from recycled raw materials, and TAÇ BIOLOOP®, developed with biodegradable properties, stood out with their approaches aimed at reducing environmental impact. In addition, the Dope Dyed coloring technology, which eliminates water usage in the production process, was among the key solutions contributing to sustainable production processes.
Next-generation yarn technologies reducing environmental impact
Among the products highlighted by the company at the fair, TAÇ BIOLOOP® drew attention as a solution developed to reduce synthetic microfiber pollution. This yarn becomes biologically degradable only under specific environmental conditions, maintaining its performance throughout its usage period while aiming to minimize environmental impact at the end of its lifecycle. Korteks’ sustainability approach is considered a structure that extends beyond the product itself and encompasses all production processes.
Functional solutions for technical textiles come to the forefront
Another important product group introduced at the fair was performance-oriented technical yarns. Products such as TAÇ Infrared, TAÇ Fluorescent, Dry Touch, Clean Guard and TAÇ Hybrid offer advanced solutions for various application areas. In particular, DRY TOUCH® technology combines comfort and performance in a wide range of applications, from sportswear to workwear, thanks to its fast moisture absorption and drying properties. TAÇ INFRARED® provides solutions developed for applications that can be used under low-light conditions. One of the company’s standout products, TAÇ Thermal Touch, attracts attention with its structure that offers long-lasting thermal comfort thanks to its rapid heating and slow cooling properties.
“We aim to contribute to the transformation of the sector”
Korteks General Manager Barış Mert stated that the fair is an important meeting point for the sector and emphasized that the company aims to contribute to the transformation of the textile industry with its sustainability- and technology-focused products. Mert also underlined that Korteks acts with a sustainability-centered approach across all stages, from raw material selection to production processes, and from water and energy management to the final product. The company continues to integrate the protection of natural resources and circular economy principles into its production processes in line with the “Smart Life 2030” strategy carried out within the group. With over 50 years of experience, Korteks continues its efforts to develop high value-added products in the field of technical textiles.
