Heimtextil brought its collaborations with Patricia Urquiola and Alcova Milano to the forefront during Milan Design Week through an event held at Villa Pestarini. At the event, the role of textiles in interior design was addressed from different perspectives.
Textiles are considered as “living systems”
In the concepts presented at the event, textiles were evaluated not merely as surfaces, but as structures, interfaces and continuously evolving fields of experience. Patricia Urquiola’s works focused on the transformative potential of textiles by bringing together craftsmanship and technology. The “among-all” concept, showcased at the latest edition of Heimtextil, was also among the highlights of the event. In this AI-supported approach, visitors’ movements became part of the design, while the role of textiles in spatial interaction was emphasised. It was also announced that Heimtextil 2027 will take place in Frankfurt from 12 to 15 January.
