A Grand Opening in New Delhi

Gartex Texprocess India 2025, one of India’s leading textile and apparel fairs, opened its doors in New Delhi with a spectacular inauguration. Organized by Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt Ltd and MEX Exhibitions Pvt Ltd, the exhibition took place in August at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan.

 

Record Number of Exhibitors

This year, the fair was held for the 13th time, hosting more than 200 companies and over 600 brands from India, along with strong international participation from China, Japan, Italy, Germany, and Singapore. Globally renowned brands such as Durst, Epson, Morimota Singapore, Groz Beckert, Brothers International, Jack Franc, Veolia, and Amazon attracted great attention.
One of the most remarkable developments was that 35% of the exhibitors participated for the very first time.

 

Key Messages at the Opening

The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, India’s Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Minister of Power, who emphasized that the textile sector is one of the country’s largest sources of employment:

“The textile industry provides direct employment to more than 45 million people. As the government, we are implementing numerous incentives to support the growth of the sector.”

Khattar also highlighted the importance of the transition to renewable energy for the country’s Mission 2047.

Guest of Honour Shri Rakesh Sachan (Minister of Textiles, Government of Uttar Pradesh) announced the state’s first textile park project, a 150-acre apparel cluster in Noida. Sachan also referred to the increase in US tariffs, stressing the need for greater capacity and investment in technology within the sector.

 

Industry Stakeholders Gathered Together

The opening ceremony was attended by Sharad Jaipuria, President of the Denim Manufacturers Association; Simon Lee, Managing Director of Hyosung India; Lalit Thukral, President of the Noida Apparel Export Cluster; as well as executives from Messe Frankfurt and MEX Exhibitions.

Raj Manek, Executive Director & Board Member of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings, described the opening day’s strong interest as “extraordinary,” underlining India’s rising role in the global textile market.
Himani Gulati and Gaurav Juneja, Directors of MEX Exhibitions, emphasized that the 13th edition is more future-focused and that participants will greatly benefit from the sessions planned during the fair.
