New Steps in Composite Technologies from BTMA Members

Airbond, based in South Wales, received the Make UK Energy and Sustainability Award for its Lattice 3D Printing project. The company’s next-generation pneumatic splicers increase production efficiency through reduced material usage, while drawing attention with a structure that is 33% lighter compared to previous models. The optimized structure developed by Airbond is widely used in the production of composite components across industries such as aerospace, automotive, and wind energy. The absence of mechanical failures in tests confirms the robustness of the design and its manufacturability.
