Sun Tekstil, 40-year-old domestic textile company, has captured the headlines of the world press with its AI-supported production model. Izmir-based textile brand Sun Tekstil, with its project carried out in collaboration with its subsidiary Ekoten Tekstil, has captured the headlines in world press as the company has incorporated artificial intelligence, the pinnacle of today’s technology, into its production processes. The company has opened a new era in its sector with its artificial intelligence-supported production model which brought into top headlines of press such as Washington Independent, America Daily Post, Latin Post. Through the integration of real-time artificial intelligence-supported error detection systems into production lines, the company reduces errors in the early stages of production, minimizing unnecessary reprocessing and over-dyeing cycles. In addition, the company significantly reduces water usage in textile production.

Sabri Ünlütürk, Vice Chairman of the Board of Sun Tekstil and Ekoten Tekstil, said that this development reflects their commitment to operational excellence and environmental responsibility and made the following statement on the subject; “Our artificial intelligence-based quality control investments increase production accuracy while minimizing material waste. Sustainable Raw Materials Used in 75% of Products Exported in 2024

Sun Tekstil, which also optimizes efficiency with artificial intelligence solutions, aims to minimize the intensive water consumption in the sector with a project carried out in cooperation with its subsidiary Ekoten Tekstil. With the project, which is a breakthrough in the world, the company plans to ensure the recycling and reusing of 90% of the water consumed up in the textile sector. In fact, it is a known fact that 22% of industrial water in Turkey is used by the food sector and 18% by the textile sector. With this project, Sun Tekstil aims to reduce this rate and ensure the efficient use of water resources. While using sustainable raw materials in 75% of the products exported to more than 10 countries in 2024, the company also achieving successes with other sustainability projects which has been implemented.

In this context, the subsidiary of Sun Tekstil received an A- grade from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for the second year in a row within the scope of climate change assessment, leaving behind the average B grade of the global textile industry and the C grade of the general market. The company took its place on the list of global leaders in supply chain sustainability by receiving the highest “A/Leadership” score in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment for the third time in a row. Sabri Ünlütürk, who mentioned about their support to gender equality-based policies where women take an active role in all levels from management to production, said, “We are proud to create a work environment that encourages diversity and equality. While strengthening their position in the sector with their design and production experience for global brands, Sun Tekstil and Ekoten Tekstil Vice Chairman of the Board Sabri Ünlütürk underlined R&D activities with 380 partners in 38 countries and said, “We offer our own designed collections to leading European brands. We provide fast and flexible service to our customers through our design offices in England, Spain and Turkey. As a company that established Turkey's first 3D digital fabric library in 2022, we continue to develop and produce.”

Sun Tekstil's subsidiary Ekoten Tekstil, which meets 40% of the energy demand of its knitting factory from solar energy in addition to its production processes carried out with a sustainable and environmentally friendly production approach, is amongst the most respected knitted fabric manufacturers both in Turkey and in Europe.
