Dilo Group Launches Nonwoven Applications

New technologies are continuing to develop as with the trends of nonwoven and technical textiles production. Dilo Group, one of the major producers of nonwoven technologies, present technologies to its clients with the direction of changing trends developed for high- tech featured applications. Dilo Group, that will be exhibited its innovations about non-woven technologies between 14-17th of April at Hightex Exhibition, Sales Director Dr. Gunnar Hemmer and Sales Manager Dominic Foshag responded to questions prepared by our editorial group.

Could you give some information about innovative technologies and wide range of commodities produced for nonwoven sector?

A current trend in the manufacturing of nonwovens and technical textiles is the increasing number of new fibre materials for which machinery components have to be adapted to optimize the processing of individual new fibre. This of course includes carbon fibre. This and the general trend for more highly specialized applications, partly with smaller volume, can be observed. These trends were addressed by the Dilo Group, with its units Dilo Spinnbau, Dilo Temafa and Dilo Machines, and led to several machinery innovations over the past few years.

Dilo Temafa offers new possibilities for the gentle opening of longer fibers at high throughput speeds using several opening stages.

The VectorQuadroCard by Dilo Spinnbau, first presented at the ITMA 2015 show in Milan, Italy, combines different types of card within one card by a simple and fast changeover of the intermediate section. The newly designed delivery system is also flexible to allow the production of parallel, random or condensed webs. The new card feeding system VRSP combines the principles of a volumetric system allowing fine dosing with the advantages of an open vibration chute feed and is also adapted to this new card.

The newly presented horizontal crosslayer DLSC 200 from Dilo Machines sets new standards in crosslapping technology with an electro-mechanical web infeed speed of more than 200 m/min depending on the fibres used. The Dilo Group also has solutions in its portfolio for the current trend in carbon fibre processing. Our compact line is designed for the production of high quality needlefelts made from carbon fibres.

How would you describe the influence of nonwoven technology today? Which innovations presented to clients about nonwoven production especially in hygiene and medical sector?

In response to the increasing costs of energy and raw materials, all the textile manufacturing chains pursue energy and raw material saving possibilities. Dilo Group concentrates on the development of new equipment to improve operation efficiency, web quality and uniformity, with positive effects on all staple fibre bonding processes.

Do you mention about specific technologies towards demand of your clients with the compact production lines you present to them?

Dilo Group has delivered more than 320 production lines to the nonwovens industry worldwide and thus has the required know-how and a complete range of machines to supply the optimum production line meeting the demands of our clients. A complete nonwoven production line delivered by Dilo Group includes standard components which are supplemented by special elements designed specifically to meet customer requirements. These special elements are adapted to application and customer.

How would you evaluate your position in Turkish and global market with the machines you produce constantly?

The Dilo Group is the leading company worldwide for the supply of nonwoven needlefelt lines. Based on several publications it is well known that the nonwoven market will constantly grow by approx. 7% per year.

The Turkish market is very important for the Dilo Group and is expected to grow further. Dilo Group as a general contractor foresees therefore an excellent potential. With its own sales office in Istanbul, Dilo is very close to this market. Over the years, Dilo has regularly supplied new lines / machinery to Turkey and maintained long-term business relationships. Latest sales success in Turkey was with the Hassan Group involving two complete lines.

How would you evaluate turkey’s potential in nonwoven production? How would you describe turkey as a market?

Turkey as a whole and the Turkish nonwoven market is growing steadily with high growth rates. Even companies from the traditional textile manufacturing business are interested in technical textiles. Institutes at the university like EGE University in Izmir are devoting time for research and development of nonwoven products. Dilo is confident to grow further in the Turkish market and will provide its range of high-quality machinery and reliable service to the Turkish nonwoven industry.
