Critical Move from Don & Low

Don & Low will adapt a new nonwoven production line to Forfars, Scotland, with the support of the Scottish Government after the COVID-19 outbreak that has caused a crisis globally. The government reportedly supplied £ 3.6m of the new line's supply and installation costs. It will also produce nonwoven line filter fabric material for use in the FFP3 masks, the most effective breathing apparatus known as respiratory device in the new production line. This move will make Don & Low one of the few companies in Europe that can supply filter material applied to produce breathable and anti-bacterial masks.

“The Outbreak Will Not Go Away Soon”

Scottish Government Minister of Trade, Investment and Innovation Ivan McKee said, “Covid-19 will not go away soon. So even though we now have enough masks to protect our health and social care workers working in the front lines, we have a long-term perspective to meet future PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) supplies. In this challenging process, we can see the material support of the several Scottish companies at the right time and at the right place.’’

"We are pleased to support the realization of this new investment that will allow us to use our existing expertise to ensure the success of critical product supply during the COVID-19 pandemic period and during the following term," said, Don & Low director Colin Johnson in his statement.
