There are 2 company, founded in 1852, in the background of Groz-Beckert; Theodor Groz& Söhne ve Ernst Beckert. Both of these companies names as “Theodor Groz& Söhne & Ernst Beckert, Nadelfabriken Commandit Gesellschaft, Ebingen und Chemnitz” in 1939. But the new company which is a combination of these two companies is recognized as Groz-Beckert. The company started to branch out its product range in 1980’s. The company which started to produce knitting machine needles, sewing and shoe machine needles. 1996 The company commences trading under the new name Groz-Beckert KG.
In 1998, Groz-Beckert takes over the Tufting Needle Division of Josef Zimmermann GmbH & Co. KG. In 2000, the company became world's leading manufacturer of weaving accessories with the acquisition of Grob Horgen AG. In 2001, the company’s expansion process continues with the acquisition of Schmeing GmbH & Co. In the Raesfeld and Weseke sites, the company engaged in the production and sale of weaving machine parts. In 2006, the Groz-Beckert Group takes over Siegfried Mayer GmbH & Co. KG and completed existing production program with its cylinder and dial production. In 2008, Groz-Beckert which gains Oskar Fischer GmbH and Knotex Machinenbau GmbH, has extended its existing production range in the weaving machine component sector.
Groz-Beckert which exports 18% of its production to 150 markets manufacturers these parts with its machines. The company’s production plants has certified with ISO 9001. Furthermore, the company has certified with integrated management system (quality, environmental, occupational health and safety), ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001. Groz-Beckert expanded its management system as ARGUS (occupational safety, risk management, health promotion, environmental protection, company security, know-how protection) because the ongoing improvement risk management is determined as company security.
