While many stores closed due to the pandemic, there was an inclination towards online shopping. The sales figures in the fashion category increased from 19 percent in the previous year to 55 percent in 2020.

According to Google and the Smart Shopper Research conducted by SCALES, which was 19 percent in 2019. In Turkey, the fashion category online purchases, increased by 36 percent to 55 percent in 2020.

Those taken by surprise against digital marketing have lost

The research shows that as the number of online shopper’s increases, so does the issues that buyers have problems with. In Turkey within 2019, while half of the consumers were experiencing problems during their conduct-related activities, the ratio was stood at 55 per cent in 2020. Majority of these problems caused by insufficient product information, inadequate product reviews or long waits and queues on the customer support line and the other reasons related to it. Research findings demonstrate that e-commerce sites were not adequate to the point of customer satisfaction that does not have digital marketing strategy and that were unprepared at the customer storm of demand.
