Turkey, which is one of the leading countries in carpet production, dominates the market in carpet machinery exports. Besides Turkey in this specialization, China, India, Belgium and the Netherlands are taken into records with their high export figures. Within the league for the carpet machinery exporters, Turkey ranked as first with its market share at around %35 per cent. On the other hand, in handmade carpets, rugs and their export markets major proportions are controlled by India, Pakistan, Iran and Nepal at most. In the same product category, Turkey placed as the fifth in the manufacture and export of handmade carpets.
"We Compile Our Efforts for New Markets"
Turkey Exporters Assembly TIM, Carpet Industry Chairman Salahattin Kaplan announced that in cumulative figures at around 235 million 677 thousand dollars’ worth of carpet exports succeed in January in which orders lodged from Turkey. In his written statement, overall sector targets were mentioned about 2021 and said, "As the industry, our intention to finalize 2021 with an overall export target of three billion dollars. I believe that we can in some ways support countries in their market struggle in the coming period. We have made great effort to increase our market share both in new markets and in existing markets.’’
