The demand for composite products used in every area of our lives is increasing gradually. The world composite market is estimated to reach 96 billion euros by 2023.

Intense demand for 'material of the future'

Composites, the indispensable material of the products we use in almost all areas of our lives; namely in energy, automotive, construction and especially in the aerospace industry, have had an important place in the history of civilization since the early periods of the history. The growth of this situation ensures the continuous growth of the sector. The world composite market, which was 11.1 million tons in volume in 2017, rose to 11.4 million tons in 2018. This figure is expected to reach 11.7 million tons in 2019 and 13.1 million tons in 2023.

The world composite market, which was 76 billion Euros in 2017, rose to 78.8 billion Euros in 2018. The composite market, which reached 82 billion euros in 2019, is expected to reach 96 billion euros in 2023.

Composite sector in Turkey is in the progress of long-term and rapid development with the effect of the global economic developments and with the aid of dynamics nationally and as a consequence, 242 thousand tons in the composite sector has been achieved. With the spread of the production of technical textiles used in composite manufacturing in our country, it is able to meet the needs of the sector in Turkey in this field as well. Turkey; while realizing exports about 240 million euros also conducting 240 million euros of imports that resulted in the balanced progress in foreign trade. Sector exports composed of 50 million Euro polyester resin, 30 million Euro GRP pipe, 25 million Euro carbon fiber, 10 million Euro glass fiber and 10 million euro technical textiles and 115 million Euro attaches to other composite products.

The Search for a New Market Continues

The composite sector, which exports directly and indirectly, directly exports the raw materials it produces, industrial intermediate goods and end products. It also exports indirectly in product segment such as automobiles, buses, boats, bathtubs. Exporting to European countries, Russia, Turkic Republics, the Middle East and North Africa, the Turkish composite sector intensifies its efforts every day to increase the number of countries it exports to. Some companies are capable of exporting to all parts of the world including USA, China and Far East.
