One of the most common problems today is the depletion of mobile phones. No matter how developed the technology is, there is no solution to the long battery life. But a special textile charger has been developed in order to ensure the continuous discharge. A group of researchers from the University of Technology ŁódŁ (ŁUT) in Poland, developed a textile charger that enables the charging of phones, tablets and other portable electronic devices using the power generated by the physical activity of its users. European patent application of the invention has also been filed.
Constantly Generates Electricity
Monika Malinowska-Olszowy, Deputy Dean of The Faculty, who also is a member of the research team that develops the textile charger, said that the innovation in the textile sector is based on research on the structure and capacities of decorative and hybrid yarns. Malinowska-Olszowy said, “The textile charger used for mobile electronic devices is an integral part of the fabric because it is made of cloth or clothing. It constantly generates electricity and supplies power to mobile electronic devices such as smartphones, tablets or other devices. The present invention replaces heavy, large batteries and power banks containing toxic substances. It is resistant to impacts and weather conditions.”
Outage Energy Flow
Malinowska-Olszowy who states that the main purpose of this technology is to provide the users with continuous access to electricity in order to maintain the operation of their mobile devices also said that; “In another item of clothing, it is placed opposite the permanent magnet and makes the shuttle movement related to the electromagnetic induction tooth. For electromagnetic induction, both ends of the thread are connected to the electrical powered electronic device with a cable and to the electrical converter with a cable.”
Investors Wanted for Mass Production
Researchers are currently looking for investors to start mass production of their inventions. When an investor is found, Malinowska-Olszowy who said that they are planning to export, also stated that “There are no similar products in the market. We are negotiating with a number of related companies and funds.”
