The fair, which will host textile technology manufacturers and textile investors, achieved a great success despite Covid-19 and reached 100% occupancy rate. With the EGE TMF Fair, bringing in intense interest of domestic Textile Machinery and Technology manufacturers, for the first time in our country, will open its doors with 100% domestic participation and 90% national production.
Textile Investments Continue
‘’As Turkey has known for years as contract manufacturers in the automotive industry for many years, with the 2000s has reached a potential to produce its own technology and to create its own brand as nation,’’ said İzgi Fuarcılık Ltd. Şti Domestic and Global Project Manager Mustafa Kemal Hızarcıoğlu and continued, ‘’The fact that the industrial industry was controlled by the private sector and the investments were made by them again caused an explosion in machinery and technology imports in our country. Until the end of the 1990s, an import-dependent investment policy has been pursued in many areas, especially in the textile industry. While achieving billion dollar worth of machinery export, Turkey has suffered most, as one of the biggest failures, in its foreign trade in this sector. With 2000s, we have welcomed a nation with its capability for research, development and the export its manufactured goods. By 2020, Turkish Machinery Industrialists have exceeded an important threshold in the foreign trade deficit by succeeding in exporting machinery and technologies of nearly 20 billion dollars annually.
While our textile machinery sector is in a parallel development with the development of the Machinery Industry, it has managed to reduce its foreign trade deficit of over 2 billion dollars annually to 300 million dollars, and today it has a total market share of 5 billion dollars in the domestic market while at the same time it has reached nearly 1 billion dollar worth of export . The determination of textile machineries’, their relentless effort and their perseverant attitude supported sector to have self-confidence and given self-confidence has resulted in several success stories in many fields for Turkey. While all of our companies participating in the EGE TMF Fair that we will organize in Denizli between 23rd to 26th of March 2021 are domestic companies, nearly 90% of the products to be exhibited are national productions. This is actually one of the biggest successes achieved so far in a technology fair organized in our country."
