“PRO-SMH Leads Textile Sector”

PRO-SMH, which was established by PRO-Teknik family in 2016 for R&D and production purposes, manufactures indigo, sizing and direct warping machines for the sector by using its engineering experience of long years, and with these machines, it draws the biggest interest from the denim sector. Making production at world standards with its production plant covering 20 thousand square meters in total in İzmit and İstanbul, Pro-SMH exhibited its new technologies to sector representatives coming from all over the world at ITMA Barcelona.

Cüneyt İşman, founding partner of PRO-SMH, which has brought a new understanding to the Turkish textile sector shared the matters wondered about the firm and sector with Textile Business.

Starting his remarks by explaining the development of PRO-SMH, İşman stated that they founded PRO-SMH in 2008 after the closure of Sucker-Müller Hacoba in 2007 and continued as such: “The first target of our firm was primarily to provide the old clients of Sucker-Muller Hacoba with the services of maintenance, spare parts, modification and renewal of existing machines. In 2016, we decided to manufacture machine lines for PRO-SMH with the support of our clients. We developed our first machine as sizing machine in 2016. In recent years, we have expanded our production portfolio by adding other machines like direct warping, sectional warping, filament and wet finishing machines. While doing these, we associated with our sister company KRANTZ KTM. Currently we are manufacturing in different parts of Turkey. In İstanbul, we operate as KRANTZ KTM while PRO-SMH, where we conduct R&D studies, is located in İzmit. In our production plant in İstanbul, we develop rustproof products for our clients (Jet-beam-bobbin-dyestuff). In İzmit (sizing, indigo, direct and sectional warping), we conduct electrical, electronic, mounting, quality control and R&D works.”

Also mentioning the contributions of PRO-SMH to country economy, Cüneyt İşman said that, “We create barriers for a significant machinery group which would enter into our country with one hundred percent foreign capital. Also, we create a significant export power with our exports to about 50 countries all over the world. In this respect, we make a great contribution to the economy of the country.”

“ITMA 2019 was so successful for us”

Evaluating the participation of PRO-SMH at ITMA Fair, İşman stated that they made a significant show to the global textile market and shared the vision and the standing of PRO-SMH at the fair with the following remarks: “The policy of our firm is not to manufacture many machines but to manufacture good and productive machines. I have previously said this. The innovative technologies that we developed with this understanding satisfied sector representatives and visitors coming from all over the world. I can easily say that ITMA 2019 was a highly successful fair for us.”

Stating that as PRO-SMH they displayed their products directly to the global textile market and formed new business partnerships with new firms, İşman said that, “We continue making new innovations in the textile sector. We advance all R&D works conducted at our firm together with our clients. We exhibited the products manufactured in this way at ITMA 2019 Barcelona for the first time. The feedback from our clients in this respect has been very very positive.”

Talking about the technologies they displayed at ITMA 2019, İşman said that, “ITMA has equate value with Olympics for textile machinery manufacturers. We completed this lap very well with our new technologies. The products we displayed at ITMA 2019 primarily include rope dyeing machine and mercerizing machine. With these machines, we have introduced great innovations in comparison to the existing machines in the market. One of these innovations is reducing the amount of water and energy used by half.”

Stating that the products displayed by the firm at ITMA include Ultrasonic Washing Dyeing Technology, Nitrogen Technology and Plasma Technology, İşman stated that they received positive feedbacks from many people visiting their stand at the fair and added that, “We have made significant developments on the areas of our work. Demands from domestic and foreign clients show how successful we are in conducting our business.” He emphasized that ITMA paved the way for important business partnerships for PRO-SMH.

Expressing that Ultrasonic technology, which grabbed attention in the fair, was developed especially for the denim sector for denim dyeing, İşman added that, “We sold our machine to one of the leading denim companies of Turkey one and half year ago and got good results from this sale. Nitrogen Technology is a very old technology. We developed the Nitrogen Technology. We aimed at using this technology more effectively and developed a design. We sold it. Presumably we will deliver this machine in a good condition in the upcoming months.”

“PRO-SMH Leads Textile Sector with its Sustainability Works”

Stating that they are still new, İşman said that ITMA Fair expanded the exporting capacity of PRO-SMH and added that, “Currently we serve 70% for domestic clients and 30% for foreign clients. Now we work with 50 countries in total. Mainly we trade with South American and Far Eastern countries. We think that this rate will be fifty-fifty following ITMA. Maybe more than half. However, what is important is that sustainable technologies are at the forefront in the textile world regardless of the sector (denim, knitting, flat weaving). Thus, we considerably improved our ultrasonic, plasma and nitrogen technologies with the aim of manufacturing sustainable products. We believe that these technologies will offer many advantages to our clients. The advantages include, for instance, water saving of 30-40% and chemicals saving of 50-60%.”

İşman continued as follows: “The footprint in our products meets our clients through an ecological accounting system. Our sensitivity concerning sustainability distinguishes us from other firms. We saw at ITMA that sustainability, environment, energy saving and water consumption are of great importance. As textile machinery manufacturers, we intend to be pioneer and will continue in this way.”

Industry 4.0

Stating that they attach great importance to Industry 4.0, İşman said that they develop software in relation to it, “We paid utmost attention for this software to be compatible with Industry 4.0. With the software, we have focused on the question of how our clients could develop their production and developed certain interfaces. Meanwhile, we used Industry 4.0 as basis.”

The newest machines of PRO-SMH with smart modules allow operators to monitor and control each and every unit. The company can have remote access with its clients over cloud for any service, update or upgrade.

PRO-SMH and Bilol Partnership

PRO-SMH collaborated with Bilol company last month and Bilol explained that it undertook sales and after-sales activities of PRO-SMH. Cüneyt İşman stated that this new collaboration highly satisfied them and said the following, “Bilol Limited is a very old company. As far as I know, it is one of the oldest companies of Turkey. At the same time, we have a long past with Mr. Galip. They had embarked on this journey as machinery company. Particularly since they sold weaving and preparatory machines, they employed as stand representative of Itema. We think that they are a very suitable agent for marketing our products in the Turkish market. I think that we have established a valuable partnership. We had decided on this partnership two months ago. ITMA Barcelona provided us a good opportunity for announcing this decision to the sector.”

Stating that as company they have made preparations for the economic problems expected in 2019, İşman said that, “As we all know, 2019 has been problematic for the country. If it is necessary for me to make an assessment on behalf of PRO-SMH, the year has been rather positive both in the Turkish market and world market together with 50 different countries we serve” and added that, “Our company has undertaken the majority of important projects in the market. Furthermore, we have had to decline many more due to our full production capacity. Works for increasing our production capacity continue at full speed. We expand our production plants both in İstanbul and İzmir.”

Finally, Cüneyt İşman stated that the second half of 2019 and 2020 would be more fruitful and would continue leading the sector, thanked all firms for supporting them and stated that they expect the continuation of this support.
