Founded in 1990 by A. Kadir Kurtul in Kahramanmarasand captured competitive position in the manufacturing, industry and marketing sectors within a short period of time in terms of organizational targets, İskur Goup ranked amongst the Turkey’s largest 500 companies. Iskur Group, which kick-off its marketing activities with the production of  the ‘’cotton”, “cotton gin” and “cotton oil, plays an important role in the development of the region with its production facilities located mainly in Kahramanmaraş.

İskur Group Founder and Chairman A. Kadir Kurtul,   an organization can be ranked amongst the most prominent firms in the textile industry, has expressed his opinion on the development of the textile industry apart from business conducts in textile sector.

A Kadir Kurtul continues his speech in relation to production activities of Iskur Group, be acknowledged as the most largest business conglomerates in capacity and production performance parameters, with yarn and knitted fabric production field efforts in the textile sector with the following, ‘We have integrated facilities in the field of denim, weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing and fabric fields to recycle high quality yarns into fabric and to satisfy distinctive customer demand as Iskur Group. In this context, the products we produce are available at 15 different owned-based marketing offices worldwide. In knitted garments, standard products such as two-thread, three-thread interlock, punto Milano, punto di Roma with elastic jersey fabrics, thermal underwear with multifunctional features, ecological products and special designs with denim effect come as demand from our customers. At the same time, our denim woven products for both women's and men's clothing obtained from different fibers comfort and power str products are being produced in a versatile way in blue, black, gray and overdye colors.’’

Kurtul has underlined the importance of customer satisfaction at every level of the production without reducing the quality and said, ‘We have always adopted the principle of renewing our substructure and continuing our way with our experienced employees with high technical capacity in order to fully meet the expectations of our customers. Honesty and sincerity are the most important values ​​that we do not compromise and considered as inevitable qualities. “We Produce for a Sustainable Future”

Kurtul continued his words by emphasizing the importance of sustainable production and the future, “We produce for a sustainable future. In this sense, we attach great importance to the development of renewable energy, ecological products and processes in all of our textile and energy investments. In our recycling facilities established in our region,  70% of the productive cotton land that corresponds to the rate of cotton reclaimed, anhydrous, in the absence of mazot and soilless colored cotton fibers produced by using dyestuffs and chemicals to the textile generation again and to leave a more livable world in Kahramanmaraş region’’ and underlined following points, ‘As İskur, we aim to be indispensable rather than preferred thanks to our strong technological infrastructure and sustainable innovative product concepts brought about by our integrated structure in textile.’

A Kadir Kurtul mentioned about the position of the firm acknowledged as the most largest yarn and knitted fabric manufacturer in the  textile field specifically in exports, ‘We export more than 50% of the products we produce and play an important role in increasing employment and accelerating socio-economic growth in the region. In 2019, we aim to enter into new markets by developing extraordinary innovative product concepts in textile in order to reach our export targets and meet the diversified demands of our customers. ”

Experiencing exports to more than 30 countries on 4 continents, Mr. Kurtul made evaluations about the new investments of Iskur at home and abroad. “As Iskur Group, our consolidated targets for 2019 are 230 million dollars and we are planning renovation and modernization investments in our textile enterprises. In the same way, we will participate in national and international fairs to ensure the continuity of our targets in order to add new ones to the countries we export to.”

“We attach great importance to innovation and R & D”

Kurtul emphasized that it is inevitable for the sector to focus on innovation and innovative products based on design superiority instead of ordinary textile products in order to overcome the crises experienced in the global markets under the increasing competitive conditions and to combat the competitive advantage of cheap prices. “As İskur Group, we attach great importance to innovation and R & D. In this context, our Research and Development Center, which started its activities in 2018, employs researchers from many different disciplines such as Textile, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Industry, Chemistry and Biology. 6 of the 8 ongoing projects in our center are being supported by TÜBİTAK. We are carrying out joint projects with many different universities for the establishment of university-industry cooperation and we are adding new ones each passing day. As Iskur, our R & D center also has product-development activities that can transform the projects we develop into innovation. In this context; we continue to develop unique products based on high value added design superiority in the concepts of military textiles, medical textiles, technical textiles, comfort textiles and ecological textiles. ”

Pointing out the quality certificates and certificates of Iskur machines, Kurtul said, “The textile sector is the flagship of our group without any doubt. We have channeled our initial investments and have the biggest role in Iskur’s corporate success until now.  As Iskur Group, we have the latest technology machinery infrastructure that can provide the fibers, yarn, fabric and ready-made clothing obtained from the recycling process in our facilities. We aim to provide faster and higher quality service to our customers with our modernization priority in machine investments throughout production and automation projects with Industry 4.0 applications. Kurtul said that since İskur Group started production in 1990, it has adopted the principle of making the latest technological investments that will adapt to the challenging competition conditions in terms of infrastructure and capacity, ‘We take great attention to both production efficiency and the state of the art technology. We are continuously enhancing Industrial 4.0 based investments and innovative processes to reduce manual processes and work-related individual errors in the machines applied in the textile industry. ”

“We Aim to Increase Our Growth Figures by 20% in 2019 as in 2018”

Finally, Kurtul shared his findings about the 2018 assessment of Iskur Group and its targets and expectations in 2019 and added, “As Iskur Group, we have come a long way in R & D and digitization issues in 2018 in order to increase productive production. We achieved 20% growth in production by providing traceability on the digital platform in all processes from raw material entry to delivery. We achieved a sustainable growth success by using lean manufacturing and quality assurance systems with our team mate who has a deep knowledge in industrial production. In order to sustain this success, many innovative and awareness-raising projects are developed in our R & D Center. As in 2018, we aim to increase our growth chart by 20% in 2019 as well. In this sense, we are taking steps to become a global company by adding renewed technologies to our structure without sacrificing efficiency and product quality.”
