In the interview conducted by Dünya newspaper, Şahin Balcıoğlu, Chairman of the Board of BLC Group, said that they started 2021 with ambitious targets and said, “We are bringing into fore our technology investment in textiles amounting to 3 million Euros. With the capacity increase and automation investment, our monthly production capacity at Çabasan Tekstil will reach 1,200 tons. Large groups that stopped buying from China and India started to gravitate towards our country. By turning this demand to Turkey and to the heart of textiles, Kahramanmaraş, we will achieve significant growth rates as Kahramanmaraş industrialists and as BLC Group.’’

Moving Orders to Turkey

Stating that they aim to grow by 50 percent this year as a group, Balcıoğlu said, “Countries that carry out all their activities through China, including big brands, turned to us due to the virus. In the past, 2-3 companies or global brands that used to be Istanbul-centred in their operations, are now seeking support from us. While it was the demand per order in exports around 2-3, it has now increased to 10 trucks. This is both a pride and a great opportunity for us to demonstrate our capabilities." Balcıoğlu stated that European’s who are looking for reliable sources are moving to Turkish market in iron and steel and underlined that this trend will contribute to have a positive impact on exports at Kahramanmaraş and around its neighboring cities by 40 to 50 per cent.

We Operate in Recycling Area

Stating that they signed an agreement with Gaziantep University Technopolis on recycling and circular economy, Balcıoğlu said, “We will carry our work further in the next period. We will increase our efforts and investments in the field of recycling exponentially. These practices will prevail in all of our businesses."

Pointing out that as BLC Group, they started to produce products in their portfolios from environmentally friendly and recycled materials many years ago, Balcıoğlu stated that they have been receiving orders from brands that direct world fashion for a long time. Recycled fibers and their collections are prepared from the waste seen great interest from world famous brands, Balcioglu, "Our negotiations are continuing with a world-famous fashion brand on the range of products we produced from recycled materials. With green leaf certificate in Turkey, we ranked as one of the two companies. Our recycling collection is highly appreciated by the brand and we are in close contact with them. We have serious processes that wipe the carbon footprint. We have adopted the principle of contributing to the circular economy.’’
