Aksa Akrilik after passing a successful year in 2021, maintained its success also in 2022 which tripled its turnover in 1st quarter, EBITDA by 5 times and net profit by 4.5 times.

Aksa Akrilik, Turkey's only and the world's leading acrylic fiber producer announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2022.

Aksa Akrilik’s turnover in January - March 2022 increased by 197% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached to 3 billion 915 million TL. In the same period, Aksa Akrilik's net profitability also has seen an increase and risen to 625 million TL by 369 per cent. The total amount of investment achieved by the company in the first quarter of 2022 was recorded as 172 million TL.

DowAksa, Turkey's first and only carbon fiber producer also maintained its successful performance. In specifics, in the first quarter of 2022, DowAksa's turnover has increased by 162 percent compared to the previous year and reached to 459 million TL.

45 Million Dollars’ Worth of Investment to be Made

Aksa Akrilik Board Member and General Manager Cengiz Taş reviewed the financial results relate to the first quarter of 2022. Underlining sustainable successes achieved thanks to their value-added export performance and production diversity, Taş said, “We continue to add value to our stakeholders with the significant investments we have made in the past and with our owned corporate governance approach.”

Stating that they will make an investment at a new technical yarn facility, Taş continued, “We are on the edge of a new yarn facility investment with an annual production capacity of 7 thousand tons, while considering the demand in our country and in the world. We are planning to commission our facility, which has a budget of 45 million dollars, at the end of 2024, with the negotiations we made with the machinery manufacturers. When our investment is completed, it will continue to contribute to the country's economy by providing a high export income.”

DowAksa Maintained Its Grow

While mentioning about the new facility establishment ceremony relate to the 3rd stage investment of the DowAksa carbon fiber factory, which was established with a 50-50 partnership with DowChemical, that has come to the reality a week prior with the support of Ministry of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, Taş said that with the finalization of investment worth of 100 million dollars, DowAksa will become one of the major actors in the industry with its huge importance for Turkey and for Yalova.
