In the 50th anniversary of Aksa Akrilik's transition to production, a new facility of 20 thousand sqmeters will be commissioned for Aksafil, for knitwear, ready-made clothing, technical textiles and hand knitting.

Aksa Akrilik General Manager Cengiz Taş underlined the importance that they have given to the new usage areas of acrylic fiber and said that they will be capable of producing high bulk (sizeable) acrylic yarn with Air Jet Spinning technology for the first time with Aksafil investment.

Aksa Akrilik, stand as the single acrylic fiber producer in Turkey that also maintains the world leadership in this segment, is crowning its 50th anniversary with a new investment. Operating under Akkök Holding, one of Turkey's most well-established industrial establishments, and channeling an average investment of 60 million dollars annually each year, the company successfully reserved at around 27.5 million dollars for its said project.

With the textile mill, first phase of the project planned to be commissioned by the end of the year with 10 thousand square meter area, the expectations revolving around to bring new products to the market and to manufacture with the application of new technology in active wear, knitwear, technical textile and hand knitting disciplines and related markets that are owned and manufactured by Aksafil. Aksa Akrilik Board Member and General Manager Cengiz Taş made an announcement about their new investment that covers three year joint work of Turkish and Japanese engineers and that came out with the registration and obtain of new machinery patents.

The Project Sets Out as ‘’Pioneer’’ of Innovative Technologies

While sharing information about the phases of the project work, Cengiz Taş revealed first two phases with their capacity as first carries 2 thousand 500 tons of yarn production and the latter carries 7 thousand 500 tons of yarn production and said, ‘’Aksafil, sharing the proud we have in our 50th anniversary of Aksa Akrilik, in fact come up with the technology for the industry that has seen its operability for the first time in history. For the first time, we will produce high bulk airjet and corespun yarn at Aksafil that is %100 acrylic. With these efforts, we are aiming to develop special products for our areas of business expanding while bringing a new business model and a new breath to the flat knitting industry and bulk yarn, of which we are the leader, with Air Jet Spinning technology.’’

While continuing his speech Taş also mentioned about the reasons for choosing Air Jet Spinning Technology and said, ‘’Since we are now achieving a yarn delivery speed of 550 meters per minute with the system that reduce hairiness and gives more clearer outlook, these have resulted in the decrease in cost and increase in productivity. Apart from high moisture absorption, in comparison to other spinning systems, we invite all our customers to our mill that sets as an example for the yarn industry with the functional technology showing high resistance to pilling, abrasion and washing.

Acrylic fiber will be used in the production of short fiber yarn

At his last comments, Taş talked about goals of Aksafil and stated that they are aiming to use acrylic fiber with new technologies in short fiber yarn production and said; ‘’ As Aksa Akrilik, we have given importance to finding new usage areas of acrylic fiber throughout our half-century history the most. In this direction, our desire is to ensure the use of acrylic fiber in the new spinning technology Air Jet technique with Aksafil. Thanks to our investment, while offering a distinctive acrylic experience, we will establish a factory to set itself as the role model in the industry with efficiency and environment-oriented approach, and with environmentally-friendly and nature conscious production. By putting women manpower at the top of its new employment target of 200 people, we will be able to support labor force participation with a female employee ratio of close to 50 percent. With our goal of sustainable growth, we will will continue our investments adding value to Turkey.’’
