WFC Gathers in Graz

The World Filtration Congress (WFC) will be held for the 11th time on April 16 -20, 2012 in Graz, Austria. It has been announced that more than 150 companies will participate in the congress, during which more than 350 technical presentations are said to be made. Important companies will attend the congress, which was first held in 1974, in Paris and which has been organized every four year since then. The topics that will be discussed at the congress, which will host the leading companies of the world such as Lenzing, Irema-filter and Alstrom, ar  as follows; Filtration and Separation Technologies, Solid-Liquid Separation, Understanding the Fundamental Equipments and Processes, Aerosol Filtration and Separation, Air Filtration and Gas Separations, Membrane Processes, Filter Media, Control of the Testing Equipments, Simulation and Modelling, Product related Separation Processes, Selective Separation, Nanofluidics and Micro Process Technology

With short courses, a catch-up work will be made on the first day of the organization, which is regarded as the most important global event on filtration. The congress, during which important studies, courses and exhibitions will be performed together with more than 2000 visitors and 750 delegates, will turn out to be an organization, where the new products of the  industrial equipment manufacturers and the particle measurement instruments will be exhibited.

Prof. Wilhelm Höflinger, Chairman of the Austrian Committee and on behalf of the Austrian Chemical Society,stated that the ones participating in the event, held every four years, will support the industry and the environment by taking important steps in the field of industrial products and in the filtration of unnecessary substances that harm the environment. Höflinger remarked that they are happy to organize the event in this city, which has a history of 1000 years. Höflinger added that it will be a very strong congress. Stating that special short courses will also be included in the congress program, Höflinger added; “The courses will be very beneficial for  information transfer. I hope that the participants will become more sensitive at the end of the congress.”

Höflinger also mentioned the previous edition of the event held in 2008, in Germany. “150 companies and 2400 visitors from 45 countries and a total of 750 delegates attended the WFC10, held in Germany. I hope that the attendance will be higher to this year’s organization,” said Höflinger.

Exhibition Area will be the Scene of Innovations

WFC11, which is regarded as the world’s most important event on filtration, will include an exhibition, at which the companies will introduce their latest technologies in filtration and separation and particle measurement instruments. The event that will be held in Graz Congress and Exhibition Centre, will be open to the visitors and the delegates for 3 days between April 17-19.
