ITHIB, has become the main supporter of KTM Exhibition once again which will take part in Kahramanmaraş the heart of the Turkish textile, this year, too.

ITHIB Re-Appointed as the Main Supporter of KTM Fair

Istanbul Textile and Textile Goods Exporters Union (ITHIB), has reaffimed its' sponsorship to the International Kahramanmaraş Textile Machinery Exhibition (KTM) which will be held for the fifth time between 26-28 September 2019 and the city has made its' presence with the great strides have been made during two decades.

ITHIB that decided to be the main supporter of the KTM 2019 that will gather the textile, ready-wear garment, fabric and yarn sector, which is the most productive  industry in Turkey and the neighbouring areas, manufacturers and machinery & accessories producers for three days, also was the supporter of the first edition of the exhibition in 2014. To remind, ITHIB had made a decision to support a textile machinery exhibition for the first time, during the KTM.

According to the protocol which is signed between ECR Fuarcılık that organised KTM Exhibition and ITHIB; ITHIB will conduct promotional activities of the KTM and will encourage members to participate in every event with the support to the fair to define the fair as a business development platform amongst exhibitors and visitors.

ITHIB General Manager Ahmet Öksüz stated that; “In Kahramanmaraş, the meeting point of all the important cities of textile sector, we believe that KTM 2019 will have a positive contribution both on the sector and the economy. The new machines that will be exhibited in the exhibition are important in terms of added-value textile production; thus we are in collaboration with KTM 2019.”

Grant About Minimum Wage for Textile Engineering Students

Furthermore, ITHIB General Manager Öksüz has menitoned about action plan in progress in order to satisfy immediate demand of the sector in trained staff  and pointed out the education plan to lecture skilled textile engineers.

According to the protocol signed amongst the 12 exporter unions and Textile Industry Employers Union (TTSİS) and YÖK, which gathered under the leadership of ITHIB and IDMIB; the students which ranked within the 20.000 in university exam will be granted about minimum wage every month without pay-back if they choose textile engineering education programs.

Öksüz who introduced the project for students to revive the sector; also  said that they are working on a course of action by organising workshops with various universities, export unions and TTSİS.

After the Ministry of Trade and YÖK’s approval of the project, in April, Öksüz also announced that the first 80.000 students who ranked in the university exam will be granted about minimum wage during their education if they choose textile and leather sector, while guaranteeing of employment for five years after graduation.
