Ernesto Maurer has been appointed as the new President of Cematex, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers.

Cematex has Elected Their New President

Ernesto Maurer has been appointed as the new President of Cematex, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers. For the next four years, Maurer will manage Cematex by taking part in three important fairs in challenging  market conditions globally.

These fairs:

• ITMA Asia + CITME: It will take place in Shanghai from June 12-16, 2021.

• 2022 ITMA Asia + CITME

• Milan ITMA 2023 (8-14 June)

Maurer was elected at the Cematex General Assembly, on June 12. He is President of the Swiss Textile Machinery Association since 2015, serving during the same period as a member of the Cematex Board of Directors and its 1st Vice-President for the past four years.

Maurer said on the subject, “The Post-Covid-19 period will have a tremendous impact on the textile industry of today and tomorrow. Cematex is determined to maintain its leadership role for exhibitions, carrying the ITMA brand to partners worldwide today and in the future, including a focus on increasingly-digital opportunities.”

Cornelia Buchwalder has appointed as the new permanent General Secretary

Cornelia Buchwalder has served on an interim basis since June 2019, following the retirement of Maria Avery, and was elected to the permanent position by the Cematex Board on March 12.

Buchwalder had been managing the Swiss Textile Machinery Association before the appointment of her new job role until 2013. Adding to the point, she has a reputation in organizing participations to the large scale and numerous global trade fairs and also various international events. Buchwalder, who also has extensive knowledge in the global technical equipment industry, will execute both tasks under the title of CEMATEX Secretary General and SWISSMEM Secretary General.
