The target of Infant and Children Clothing Exports is to be Rank Among the Top Five.

Europe's second, the world's seventh-largest clothing supplier Turkey, which has set targets about 2023. Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) in 2023, a record volume growth in apparel exports target of 52 billion dollars came from infant and children's clothing sector. The infant and children's clothing sector has grown 50 percent more than adult ready-to-wear. Exports of infant and children’s clothing increased from 118 million dollars in 2010 to 249 million dollars in 2018. Our country occupies an important position in the infant and children's clothing sector with a business volume of approximately 600 million dollars in terms of both export and import share. The new target in the infant and children's clothing sector is to be the leader in export figures in Europe and to be rank among the top five in the world.

Business Volume Increased 20 Percent in 4 Years

The fairs, especially for export-oriented infant and children products, bring a great dynamism to the market and serve the economic growth of the sector and opening up to new areas. Hatice Dİnçer, Director of the 38th International İstanbul Mother and Baby Products Fair, which will be the first infant and children products fair of the year, said, “Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI) referring to the statistical data for the last ten years, Turkey's foreign trade and current account balance is one of the sectors that play an important role in the infant and children's clothing industry in the last 4 years the company's business volume that magnifies 20 times. Looking at the first half of 2019, there was an increase in exports of more than 25 percent in the infant-child sector. While we expect to reach more than 19 billion dollars export figures at the end of 2019 in the ready-to-wear clothing sector, we foresee that we will be in the band of 250 million dollars in infant and children clothing export.”
