Söktaş at Jıtac European Textile Fair

Söktaş, which is in the top ranks in fabrics industry for shirts made of cotton for luxury with its annual production capacity of 10 million meters, while leaving behind 50 year in the textile industry, brought together its “Meander 71” collection with Japanese fashion brands that attach great importance to quality and possesses refined tastes at the JITAC EUROPEAN TEXTILE fair in which European-based products were taken into exhibits.

While emphasized on the joining in Japanese market that entails a long-term process, Söktaş Tekstil CEO’s Muzaffer Kayhan said, “The Japanese market is very difficult to enter, it is a market that should be considered for long-term. Analysis, research and trial periods are extremely longer. However, if you have patience and can build confidence, a permanent trade can take part in. The Japanese attach great importance to trust and continuity, therefore, as Söktaş, we have been exhibiting at JITAC European Textile Fairs every season since 2010. We give value to our participation at this fair to strengthen our company reputation and to increase the volume of our existing collaborations and to achieve new ones.’’

While underlining that Japan has the third largest market in luxury consumption in the world, Kayhan said, “For the Japanese, product quality is very important and service conduct is different than everywhere else. Keeping in mind this reality, we design special products according to the needs of the Japanese market and strive to provide the best service. Generally special products are preferred with a past. For Isetan Mitsukoshi, one of the world's largest and most prestigious store chains, we are proud to serve our customers with our silky 'Meander 71' products, which are produced in limited quantities with Turkey's first long staple cotton grown on our family's land in the fertile Söke plain, and with the Söktaş brand we are proud of serving special sewing customers. This successful cooperation with Isetan Mitsukoshi is a very important reference for Söktaş's product quality and service level."

Söktaş's Regenerative Cotton was presented to Japanese Designers

In addition to its innovative Spring Summer 2023 collection, Söktaş presented its capsule collection designed specifically for the Japanese market with regenerative cottons, which was introduced for the first time at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), together with Stella McCartney, to the industry representatives at JITAC. Söktaş CEO Kayhan, who aims to greatly reduce the environmental impacts and water consumption of conventional agriculture, support growth of soil  and regain organic carbon in the soil with regenerative agriculture,‘’ It is a comprehensive and long-term R&D project carried out jointly with the Turkish Cotton Research Institute, after the great success of our silky Meander 71 products, which are produced in limited quantities with Turkey's first long-staple cotton grown on our family's lands in the Söke plain, in the Japanese market, we believe that our products specially designed for Japanese luxury consumers from the regenerative cottons we produce on our own lands will also bring great success.’’
